Voice Over IP

Voicemail and email are indispensable tools for today’s businesses. Today, traditional ways of communicating are rapidly giving way to a new world ushered in by the ability to transfer voice over the Internet. Being a cost saving telecommunication system, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) allows you to make telephone calls using a computer network, over a data network like the Internet. It converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the Internet and then converts it back at the other end.

As one of the first companies to offer VoIP solutions, AltiGen is a leader and market innovator in VoIP telephone systems. AltiGen's phone systems, utilizing VoIP technology, are designed to support voice and data communications converged into a single streamlined data network. AltiGen’s systems are designed with an open architecture, built on industry standard Intel based servers, SIP compliant phones and Microsoft Windows based IP applications. This adherence to widely used standards allows AltiGen solutions to both integrate with and leverage a company’s existing technology investment. AltiGen’s award winning integrated IP applications suite provides customers with a complete business communications solution. Voicemail, unified messaging, automatic call distribution, call recording, call activity reporting and mobility solutions take advantage of the convergence of voice and data communications to achieve superior business results.

StaffTechs and AltiGen have joined together to offer a product that allows employees to make telephone calls over a data network, such as the Internet. The IP 710 is a handset telephone, with a four-line, backlit liquid crystal display that is capable of displaying time, caller ID name and number, real-time call center workgroup statistics, do-not-disturb and call forwarding status. In addition, it can be personalized with 15 backlit user-defined keys and can be setup for any combination of configurable features, such as, speed-dialing, call appearances and workgroup activity status.

In addition, AltiGen provides long-term computer interface capabilities for call centers. Before a call is answered, the product provides pertinent information about the callers, such as caller identification (ID), time display and call timer, message waiting indicator, activity phone numbers, among others. Further call center integration is possible through Microsoft Customer Relations Management (CRM). Today’s technology is all about integration. Having a phone system linked to your computer desktop provides employees with a graphical user interface to the sophisticated features that are most likely not being used with your existing system. IP phones can also provide your sales staff with a much more robust CRM system which ties their contacts, notes and appointments to their incoming and outgoing calls. This alleviates the process of having to reference these while your customer is on hold.

Additional benefits of AltiGen VoIP solutions include having your IT department manage the phone system, as opposed to having an outside vendor come in every time there is a configuration change or a new extension and voicemail to add to the system. It puts control of the telecommunications system into your company’s hands.
